Daily Countdown: 83 Days

Are the days at work starting to get crazy hectic? Do you find yourself more irritable without your outlet? Bruins fans, we are all in the same boat and there is only eighty-three more days remaining until we see the men in Black and Gold skate once again. While they still haven’t made any BIG moves, there is still a 60/40 chance that Tim Thomas will be sent off to a different team. (At least that’s what Bruins reporter Jimmy Murphy responded when I asked him) Since we are still in double digits waiting for hockey season to begin, we need to find some other source of entertainment. What better way than to do a Friday Feature of the social media Bruins members. This is something new that we are going to try out, each week we are going to post the happenings around the social media networks and showcase the funniest or most heartwarming pieces.

This week’s feature: @tylerseguin92.

Generally on the fourth of July, many players will tweet Happy Fourth and simply leave it at that, but for Tyler, he had a more interesting and intriguing tweet:

As if this wasn’t enough of an eyebrow raiser, Segs couldn’t leave his Seguinistas out there hanging to dry so he tweeted a follow up Tweet the next day. One that was sure to get the proverbial ‘panties dropping.’

Tyler, you are probably right, you won’t hear the end of this one for a while, but I’m assuming that Brad will be your biggest pest. Have fun with that and please, don’t hesitate to post your photos for the world to see, you might get yourself qualified for the Hawt Trophy on Aerys Intermission Report with those.

We are yet another day closer to the start of Boston Bruins hockey people. We are in the double digits and getting that much closer to seeing the men in Black and Gold that seem to make the days problems vanish. There are only ninety-four days until we welcome Chris Kelly, Gregory Campbell and Daniel Paille back to Boston. Ninety-four days until we congratulate Tuukka Rask on becoming the starting goal keeper and welcome Anton Khudobin to the big league. Ninety-four days until Zdeno Chara plants his first hit against the Philadelphia Flyers(hopefully Tom Sestito). Ninety-four days until we see #18 skating on the ice alongside Milan Lucic and David Krejci. Ninety-four days until we begin, yet another countdown, of when defenseman Adam McQuaid will lose his footing and injure himself…again (I’m a firm believer we need to invent bubbles for the clutz skaters, ahem…McQuaid) The countdown continues on and until the opening day, we promise to continue to keep you up to date on anything and everything Bruins hockey related. Ninety-four days and counting. . .

Daily Countdown: 111 Days

Is the time until October lagging? Are you stressing out over the possibility of the season being shortened due to the CBA changes? Well, get your Bruins fix by attending Shawn Thornton and the Bruins Foundation Putts & Punches for Parkinsons on August 6th at the Ferncroft Country Club. Bruins fans will be able to enjoy 18 holes of golf followed by dinner and cocktails with Shawn Thornton. They will also have the chance to win sports memorabilia as well as raffle and silent auction items. Groups of four cost $1600 and individuals or companies may sponsor a hole for $2000.  All proceeds benefit the Boston Bruins Foundation and the American Parkinson Disease Association.

So Bruins fans, if you are having serious withdrawals, grab your clubs and your caddies and get on the green!

Benoit Pouliot (Photo Credit: Lisa Gansky/Flickr)

Today marks yet another day closer to the 2012-2013 Boston Bruins season. While we already know that Gregory Campbell, Chris Kelly and Daniel Paille will be back, there has been no word on forward Benoit Pouliot. Today’s countdown is going to be a prayed circle for pou-bear, in hopes that he too will be back in Boston for the coming season. In case you need a few reasons as to why we want Benny back, take a look at the videos below:

If that isn’t good enough for you to want to keep him around, how about you give this one a watch:

Not to mention, Pouliot’s statistics were career-best for him being in Boston, Julien was able to get more out of Pouliot than both Minnesota and Montreal. That has to stand for something. So come on Bruins fans, send your thoughts Pouliot’s way in hopes that we will see him next season as one of the top nine forwards.

What is there to be thankful for today Bruins fans? Well, there is FANTASTIC news that has come about. Today both Gregory Campbell and Chris Kelly signed contracts with the Bruins. Chris Kelly signed a 4-year contract worth $12million, while teammate Gregory Campbell signed a three-year contract worth $4.8million. Yay for Kelly and Campbell, looks like we are keeping the team together in hopes for another strong Cup run.

Bruins fans, CSNNE.com confirmed for us yesterday that negotiations are in order with both Chris Kelly and Gregory Campbell. While nothing is set in stone, it appears that the fourth line will remain the same and Boston will again be blessed with the presence of Chris Kelly. Now, if only we could get some information on forward Benoit Pouliot, then we’d be all set to go for the 2012-2013 season. Fingers crossed for Benny P!

Rich Peverley (Photo Credit: Steph Phillips)

Today marks yet another day closer to the 2012-2013 season. We’re another day closer to the double digit days people! Today we can reflect on a blowout win the Bruins provided us with last season against the Canucks as Corey Schneider took the net and allowed the Bruins four goals to their none. The star of ths game, Rich Peverley. Peverley scored the first goal just over half way through the first period, and sealed the Bruins fate as he netted the fourth and final goal in the third period only a few minutes in.

Rich Peverley has proven to be a substantial and important player to the Bruins organization and he is one that we can definitely look forward to seeing more of come the 2012-2013 season as he signed a contract mid-season.  If Chris Kelly doesn’t come back to Boston, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Peverley with the assistant Captaincy.

What a beautiful goal.

Daily Countdown: 121 Days

Still looking for some extra motivation to look forward to the 2012-2013 season because you are bummed about Thomas still. The news of Daniel Paille and Chris Bourque being signed didn’t do it for you? Not even the great news of Adam McQuaid and Nathan Horton being on track to be ready at the get go? Well, there is only one more BIG thing to celebrate that is sure to put a smile on ANY fan’s face.

Wait for it. . .

NO MORE JOE CORVO IN BOSTON! That’s right B’s fans, while I would like to tell you that it was a bittersweet moment for both the organization and the defenseman, that just wasn’t the case. It was more of a ‘thanks but no thanks’ moment with no hard feelings. Joe, we wish you luck in the free agency, hope you, eh, don’t end up with Columbus?

Zombie Apocalypse or playing for the Boston Bruins. (thumbs up!) With the recent outbreak of cannibalism, it is no wonder that the star goaltender is contemplating taking a year off. He needs to redeem himself with Bruins fans after the way he has been perceived in the past year for his political stunts. What better way to do so than to fight off zombies that are trying to eat your face off?! Regardless Tim, you have my respect, assuming you don’t ‘sit out/get suspended’ thus wasting $5million. No me gusta.
