The Providence Bruins are shipping up to Portland to take on the Portland Pirates in a make-up game that was originally scheduled for December 27. In the re-scheduling of this game, the Bruins and Pirates will have a home-and-home stint where the Bruins face off against Portland at the Civic Center  then head back down to Providence to host them on Friday.

The last two meetings between the Pirates and Bruins have been in the Bruins favor as they have taken a 2-1 victory on the 17th of November and a 5-2 victory on December 1.  In their third meeting on the season the Bruins are looking to continue sweeping the Pirates and sinking them further down in the Atlantic. (<<See what I did there?)

Currently the Providence Bruins sit in third place in the Atlantic Division, four points behind the Pirates.  If they are able to pull off two victories against the club, they will edge past them and re-gain first place.

Chris Bourque will be the man of the night as he looks to extend his point streak.  He is leading the Bruins with 25 points, five of those points from his last 4 games.

Niklas Svedberg is expected to be in net for the Bruins and while Whitfield has started skating again, he is not expected to make the line up tomorrow night.

The puck drops at 7:00 and I will be providing you with some in-game tweeting as I attend my first hockey game of the season/new year.  Keep up with the coverage on twitter by following me at @brooksiebruin19.
