Providence Profiles: Jared Knight

This weeks Providence Profile is a name that is very familiar when it comes to talk about prospects within the Boston Bruins organization. And if you haven’t heard of Jared Knight well then prepare to hear about him for years to come. The 2010 2nd round draft pick for the Bruins hasn’t made a huge splash in the AHL thus far but this two-way winger has the potential to do big things for the organization.

Knights most notable team is ironically the OHL London Knights  in which he has played four different seasons. In the 2011-2012 season he complied 26 goals and 26 assists with a plus-28 rating. His team would win the championship over Niagra that year.

With Providence playing already 19 games this season, Knight has been in two and has yet to register a goal. Knight is a physical player that can back up the strength with good offensive scoring. With the lock out still going on, I think that this is hindering Knight from getting legitimate playing time. In years to come, the 20-year old will definitely be given a change to shine.

This year in his first full season with Providence, Knight is living with teammates Torey Krug and Ryan Spooner. If you’re even mildly curious about where they call their “home sweet home” during the season you should check out this video:
